Ste. Anne Minor Hockey is hosting a 4v4 ball hockey tournament to kick off the 2026-27 season on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Premier Tech Multiplex in Richer, Manitoba.
The season kickoff event at Ste. Anne Minor Hockey runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and features age divisions from under-9 to 18 and up. Teams play four-on-four with a goalie, with each squad guaranteed three games. Registration is $180 per team and closes August 31, 2026.
“Guaranteed three games, prizes for winning teams, plus beer gardens and good vibes all day,” the tournament listing says. All players must wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet with cage and running shoes. No other equipment is listed.
To register a team, contact Devin Balness at 204-266-0408. Volunteers are also needed to help with food and beverage coordination, sponsors, and a silent auction. Volunteer inquiries can go to [email protected] or 1-204-792-6311.
The Premier Tech Multiplex is part of Dawson Trail Park, a family-friendly green space in Richer about 35 minutes east of Winnipeg along the Trans-Canada Highway. The Richer Community Club, a non-profit that manages the facility, has poured more than $300,000 plus volunteer labour into park upgrades in recent years. According to committee member Dan Guetre, the club’s fundraising efforts include major events like the annual Richer Roughstock Rodeo.
Ste. Anne Minor Hockey operates under Hockey Manitoba’s Eastman region. The community of about 2,900, located 43 kilometres southeast of Winnipeg, has a proud hockey history, having produced Olympians Jocelyne Larocque and Bailey Bram.
