Bay Roberts residents heading to college this fall can get a head start on campus life through a free virtual event on Thursday, July 30. The College of the North Atlantic is hosting a student panel called “Lessons from Current Students” at 7:00 p.m. NDT to help incoming students feel more prepared and less anxious about starting classes.
The online session, held on Microsoft Teams, is designed especially for students who could use a little extra support during the transition. That includes anyone moving away from home for the first time, students who are feeling nervous about college, and those registered with the college’s Accessibility Services.
During the panel, current CNA students will share honest stories and practical advice. Topics will include how to handle the first few weeks of classes, how to connect with campus supports and community resources, and strategies for doing well in courses.
The event is listed as a “Transition Support Activity” on the college’s events calendar. These activities are meant to give extra guidance to students who might need more time or help adjusting to college life. For Bay Roberts, where the nearest CNA campus is in Placentia, the virtual format means students can join from home without worrying about travel.
