Wednesday will kick things off with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 22°C. Overnight, there’s a 30 percent chance of showers as winds pick up from the northwest, gusting up to 60 km/h, and the low drops to 9°C. No weather alerts are in effect for the area.
Thursday stays breezy but mainly dry, with more sun and cloud and a high of 18°C. The real payoff comes Friday and Saturday, when clear skies and highs of 21°C and 22°C are expected, giving residents ideal conditions for outdoor plans.
By Sunday, clouds start moving back in. Environment Canada calls for a high of 22°C under a mix of sun and cloud, but the Weather Network forecast suggests a 60 percent chance of evening showers Saturday and a 70 percent chance of rain overnight, with Sunday turning cloudy and showery and temperatures dipping to about 19°C.
This calmer pattern is a welcome shift from the severe thunderstorms that hit parts of central and northern Alberta on July 28, when forecasters warned of tennis ball-sized hail and wind gusts over 100 km/h.
