Mississippi Mills residents will see continued support at their local hospital as part of an $18.8-million provincial investment announced on August 6, 2026. John Jordan, MPP for Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston, shared the news, which directs funds to five hospitals across the region.
Of the total, the Almonte General Hospital, Carleton Place District Memorial Hospital, and Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital will share $3.7 million to improve operations and reduce wait times.
Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care Centre will receive the remaining $15.1 million. Both Almonte General Hospital and Carleton Place District Memorial Hospital belong to the Mississippi River Health Alliance, which serves Mississippi Mills directly.
The cash is part of a $1.1-billion top-up to Ontario’s hospital sector in Budget 2026, marking the fourth year in a row of a four per cent increase. MPP Jordan, who also works as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Health, said the money will help local hospitals handle rising demand so patients can get quality care close to home.
