The Town of Bay Roberts is reminding residents that curbside bulk waste collection has wrapped up for 2026. The message came in a public notice posted to the town’s website on August 6, confirming that no further pickups will happen this year.
The spring collection, managed by the Eastern Regional Service Board, covered oversized items on select dates in May. Appointments closed on May 13, and collection days ran May 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 19, and 27.
Residents are being told not to place bulk garbage at the roadside. Anyone with large items to get rid of for the rest of 2026 must arrange their own disposal. “Bulk garbage should not be placed at the roadside for collection,” the notice states.
This was the second year that Bay Roberts had its waste services handled by the Eastern Regional Service Board. The town moved collection to the regional body in July 2024. Each household in the program gets one bulk waste pickup by appointment each year. Bagged trash is not accepted during oversized collection; anything small enough for a clear bag goes out on regular garbage day.
For questions about waste collection, residents can reach the Eastern Regional Service Board toll-free at 1-877-878-2166 or at 709-579-7960.
