Vermilion residents can look forward to a new community event this September as the Town of Vermilion, in partnership with Lakeland College and the Vermilion Agricultural Society, presents the inaugural Hometown Celebration concert featuring Canadian country artist Nate Haller.
The all-ages show takes place Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Vermilion AG Grounds. Doors open at 5:00 PM, with the music starting at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20 each, while children 10 and under get in free. Food trucks and beer gardens will be on site for the evening.
Haller, a rising star in Canadian country music from Waterloo, Ontario, is currently on his first headlining Canadian tour, the Thought About You Roadshow 2026. His new single “Thought About You,” released January 23, 2026, has reached #5 on Canada Country radio. Haller has previously performed at major festivals such as the Calgary Stampede and Boots and Hearts.
The Hometown Celebration marks a new tradition for the community, building on Vermilion’s deep agricultural roots. The Vermilion Agricultural Society has hosted the annual Vermilion Fair since 1906, and this partnership with the Town and Lakeland College combines local heritage with live entertainment in a fresh way. Lakeland College, established in 1913, is the third-oldest post-secondary institution in Alberta.
