The Leduc, Nisku and Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting a luncheon on October 7, 2026, to help local employers build more inclusive workplaces. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Royal Hotel, 8450 Sparrow Drive, in Leduc, Alberta.
The luncheon, called “The Inclusive Workforce Conversation,” is held in partnership with Leduc LINX Connect Centre to mark Disability Employment Awareness Month. A panel of local employers will share practical tips on diversity and inclusion in hiring and workplace culture.
Tickets cost $27 plus GST. The event is ticketless, so registered guests are added to the guest list.
Leduc LINX Connect Centre has provided employment, community access, and residential services to adults and youth with developmental disabilities since 2008. The charity serves more than 50 individuals and employs over 40 staff.
Disability Employment Awareness Month is recognized each October across Canada. Statistics show that 27 per cent of Canadians aged 15 and older identify as having a disability. Employers may benefit too: people with disabilities have an 80 per cent lower turnover rate, and 92 per cent of consumers are more likely to buy from a business that hires inclusively.
The Chamber also runs the Job Connector program, which matches local businesses in Leduc, Nisku, and Wetaskiwin with prospective employees and offers resources like wage subsidies and training support.
