Hinton kids can celebrate their summer of reading with a pirate-themed wrap-up party at the Hinton Municipal Library on Friday, August 28, 2026. The free finale runs from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and includes crafts, pizza, treats, and a pirate adventure, with costumes encouraged.
The party marks the end of this year’s Summer Reading Club, which used a “Dive In!” theme to explore rivers, lakes, and oceans through books. Participants who logged their minutes or books over the summer can show off their best pirate attire while enjoying the final celebration.
The Hinton Municipal Library is located at 803 Switzer Drive inside the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre. Families who registered for the program are welcome to attend, and no admission fee is required.
The Summer Reading Club runs annually in July and August to help prevent summer learning loss. Kids tracked their reading on paper logs or through a digital app, earning stickers, book vouchers, and entries into grand prize draws along the way.
