Tickets are now on sale for the popular Fort Malden by Candlelight event in Amherstburg, Ontario. The Friends of Fort Malden, in partnership with Parks Canada, will host the evening tours on Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24, 2026, with tours at 7 pm and 8 pm both nights. Cost is $33 per person, and spots are limited.
Visitors will explore the historic Fort Malden National Historic Site by lantern light. Costumed heritage interpreters will share stories of 19th-century soldiers who lived and worked at the fort.

The Fort Malden by Candlelight tours have become an annual tradition. The 2026 price of $33 is an increase from $20 per person charged in 2024.
Fort Malden is located at 100 Laird Avenue in Amherstburg. The site preserves the remains of a British fort established in 1796. It served as a stronghold during the War of 1812 and the Rebellions of 1837-1838. It was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1921.
Money raised from the tours supports the Friends of Fort Malden, a non-profit charitable group that funds summer student jobs and local historic programs at the fort.
