The public skating season at the Libro Credit Union Centre in Amherstburg, Ontario, concludes today, March 29, 2026. This brings an end to the town’s five-month winter ice program, which provided residents with affordable, drop-in recreation opportunities since October 2025.
The facility, operated by Nustadia Recreation, hosted its final public skating session on Sunday from 5:00 pm to 6:50 pm on Rink B. The beginner skating program, which offered a dedicated time for new skaters to practice their skills, concluded on March 28, 2026.
Throughout the season, these programs were open to all ages at a cost of $4 per person or $12 for a family of five. The Libro Credit Union Centre, a 165,000 square foot facility, features two NHL-sized ice pads and provides a variety of other skating options, including Parent and Tot, youth, figure, and senior skating, as well as adult drop-in hockey.
While the seasonal ice programs are wrapping up, the centre continues to offer various amenities, including an indoor turf field, a walking track, and a concession facility. Residents looking for more information on the transition of services at the facility, located at 3295 Meloche Rd, can visit the Town of Amherstburg website.
