Amherstburg residents have a new option for walk-in medical care and pharmacy services, as SV Care Medical & Walk-in Clinic officially opened at 38 Victoria Street South on the weekend of July 18-19, 2026. The Town of Amherstburg welcomed the clinic, noting it expands access to essential healthcare for the growing community.
The clinic is owned and operated by pharmacists Sri and Vedha Etikala, who bring 30 years of combined experience in the pharmaceutical field. The couple saw an opportunity to serve Amherstburg after purchasing the building last September and beginning renovations in December.
Dr. Oluwayomi Edwin is the clinic’s family physician and is now accepting new patients. With two decades of clinical experience across Africa, Europe, and North America, Dr. Edwin has completed residency training in both hematology and family medicine, offering a blend of specialized and holistic care.
The clinic offers walk-in services on a first-come, first-served basis from Monday to Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It is closed Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for now, but the owners plan to eventually operate a seven-day walk-in clinic and family practice six days per week, depending on community support and the ability to recruit more doctors.
Beyond walk-in care, the clinic provides non-OHIP services such as driver’s medical exams, TB testing, sick notes, form completions, and travel vaccinations. The pharmacy also benefits from recent provincial changes that, as of July 1, 2026, allow Ontario pharmacists to treat nine additional minor ailments and give six more publicly funded vaccines.
The opening comes at a time when more than 2.5 million Ontarians lack a family doctor, and rural communities like Amherstburg face particular challenges in accessing local walk-in clinics. Sri Etikala says the community has been very receptive to their healthcare concept, and he’s grateful for the support.
