But conditions are expected to clear later today, setting the stage for several days of sunshine. Wednesday will bring sunny skies and a high of 26°C, with a humidex of 30 and north winds gusting to 40 km/h.
The sun will stick around Thursday with a high of 28°C, and Friday is expected to be the warmest day at 29°C. The Environment Canada forecast shows no alerts in effect for the area. However, residents should be aware that the UV index will reach very high levels on Wednesday, with a rating of 8. Environment Canada recommends not staying too long in the sun, especially between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., seeking shade, wearing protective clothing and sunglasses, and using sunscreen.
