Residents of Bay Roberts, Newfoundland, can now schedule their 2026 oversized items collection through the Eastern Regional Service Board. To have bulk items picked up this year, homeowners must book an appointment in advance, as the service is no longer available without prior registration.
The window for scheduling these appointments opened on April 8, 2026, and will remain open until 8:30 a.m. on May 13, 2026. Residents are encouraged to act quickly, as available time slots are expected to fill up fast. Appointments can be made through the regional board’s online booking portal or by calling their toll-free number at 1-877-878-2166.
The actual collection dates for the town are set for May 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 19. This change to an appointment-based system follows the town’s transition to regional waste management services, which officially began on July 2, 2024.
The oversized items program includes specific rules to ensure safe and efficient collection. Individual items must not weigh more than 20 kilograms, and each household is limited to a total of 226 kilograms or one full truckload, whichever is less. Furthermore, the program does not accept bagged waste, electronics, tires, construction materials and select other items.
The Eastern Regional Service Board manages these municipal services for approximately 27,000 households across 110 communities in eastern Newfoundland. For any questions regarding local operations, the Town of Bay Roberts continues to serve as the primary point of contact for its residents.
