Blackfalds residents with a creative streak can pick up a paintbrush at the Miniature Figure Paint-A-Thon this Saturday, September 26, 2026. The free event runs from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the Program Room at the Blackfalds Public Library, located at 5302 Broadway Avenue.
Organized by the Town of Blackfalds, the Paint-A-Thon is open to all ages and skill levels. Newcomers will receive everything they need to paint their first miniature figurine, while experienced hobbyists can enjoy speed painting demonstrations and pick up tips from fellow painters.
The day wraps up with an all-ages, all-skills contest, giving participants a chance to show off their work. Friendly chats and a relaxed atmosphere are part of the draw, making it an easy way for families to try a popular hobby linked to tabletop games like Warhammer and Dungeons & Dragons.
This is the second year for the Paint-A-Thon, which made its debut during Culture Days 2024 in Blackfalds. The event is part of the Town’s ongoing effort to expand community programming, and local arts and culture activities can seek support through programs such as the Blackfalds Community Initiative Grant.
