The Brockville Fire Department is inviting the community to explore its operations and learn about firefighting careers during an open house on April 30, 2026. The free event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the department’s headquarters located at Station #2, 360 Laurier Boulevard in Brockville, Ontario.
The open house provides a chance for residents to meet the fire department team, including Fire Chief Melanie Jones, Deputy Fire Chief Chris Paul, and Administrative Coordinator Marilyn Poisson. Visitors can ask questions about the daily duties of firefighters and learn more about the qualifications required for a career in the field.
As the department’s headquarters, Station #2 houses administration, fire suppression, fire prevention, and training divisions. The Training Division is responsible for coordinating all training requirements and developing annual training plans to ensure personnel are prepared to respond to fires, rescues, and various medical and technical emergencies.
During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to view some of the department’s modern firefighting equipment. The fleet includes a 2022 Spartan/Dependable pumper, a 2022 Freightliner/Lafleur rescue vehicle, a 2014 Rosenbauer Commander ladder truck, and the Chief’s 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe. The department also operates Station #1, located at 61 Perth Street, which focuses on fire suppression efforts.
For more information on the department and its services, residents can visit the City of Brockville website.
