Residents in Brockville have the opportunity to learn about inclusive home design during a free virtual seminar hosted by Amsted Design-Build on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The one-hour event begins at 6:30 p.m. and offers guidance on how to make homes more functional for people at any stage of life.
The session is being held in coordination with the Brockville & District Chamber of Commerce, leading up to National AccessAbility Week, which runs from May 31 to June 6, 2026. This year, the national awareness week carries the theme of Building a Strong, Accessible Canada.
During the webinar, a senior architectural designer from the company will discuss how to approach accessibility as a key design principle rather than an afterthought. Topics include practical strategies for adapting living spaces to meet diverse needs, how to future-proof homes, and how both minor changes and major renovations can improve daily living experiences. The presenter holds certifications from the Canadian Home Builders’ Association for its Adaptiv Home program as well as the Rick Hansen Foundation.
Amsted Design-Build has served the area since merging with local firm Precision Contracting in 2022. The company has been recognized as the Ontario Renovator of the Year six times and the Ottawa Renovator of the Year twelve times. Those interested in attending the session can register through the chamber’s website.
