St. Lawrence College is celebrating Social Work Month this March 2026 by spotlighting students in its Social Service Worker program, including those from the Brockville region.
The college is sharing these stories to show the different paths people take to help others in the community. One featured student is Hanan Zeineldin, who is currently enrolled in the fast-track version of the program.
Zeineldin brings a unique background to her studies, having worked as a filmmaker and earned a degree in mass media and communications in Egypt. She also holds a master’s degree in educational multimedia from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
The school uses these spotlights to talk about how important social workers are to the region. These programs train people to support local residents who may be dealing with mental health, poverty, or homelessness.
By sharing these experiences, the college aims to show how accessible the career path is for people living in the area. The training is offered to students across the Brockville, Cornwall, and Kingston regions.
