Residents of Brockville, Ontario, may notice city vehicles parked near local intersections over the coming weeks as annual traffic counting operations are currently underway. The work, which began on May 6, 2026, is expected to continue through June 2026.
The City of Brockville Transportation Division conducts these manual counts every May to better understand traffic flow and driver behaviour. Staff typically complete the counts during peak traffic periods in roughly two-hour intervals.
Intersections are chosen for a variety of reasons, including tracking traffic in areas seeing new development or growth. Other locations are part of a rotating cycle to ensure the city maintains current data.
