Cataraqui Conservation has issued an updated shoreline conditions statement for Lake Ontario and the upper St. Lawrence River, confirming that water levels in Brockville have stabilized as of May 13, 2026.
While the update indicates that widespread flooding is not expected at this time, water levels are currently sitting about 30 to 35 centimetres above typical summer peaks. These levels are expected to remain above the seasonal average throughout the summer and into the fall before beginning a slow decline. Localized impacts from wave action may still pose a risk while water levels remain elevated.
The current water level measured at the St. Lawrence River in Brockville is 75.00 metres. This remains 0.72 metres below the 100-year flood elevation of 75.72 metres. For comparison, record-high water levels in 2017 and 2019 reached between 75.8 and 75.9 metres, which caused significant issues including submerged docks, damaged boathouses, and road closures across the region.
The City of Brockville is advising waterfront property owners to remain vigilant and monitor the situation. Residents who have questions regarding sandbag supplies are encouraged to contact the city directly for assistance.
This advisory is scheduled to remain in effect until June 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Official updates on the regional water status are managed in coordination with the International Lake Ontario–St. Lawrence River Board, which oversees water management for the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River system.
