The Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, Ontario, released a consolidated guide today, March 4, 2026, to help residents understand ticket discounts and financial aid programs. The new guide explains how visitors can save money on entry fees and which groups qualify for free admission during regular garden hours.
One of the main programs highlighted is the Green Angels fund, which provides financial help to people with special needs and those facing financial barriers. This fund covers costs for admission, memberships, and school programs to make the gardens more accessible. Additionally, people who use a transit PRESTO card are eligible for a 15 per cent discount on adult tickets when they buy them in person at the gate.
The garden also honours memberships from the American Horticultural Society, allowing these members free entry with a valid card and government ID. However, the policy for members of the Ontario College of Teachers has changed significantly. Teachers no longer receive free daily admission and are instead invited to attend two private showcase events held each year.
It is important to note that most of these discounts, including the transit card deal and reciprocal memberships, do not apply to special ticketed events. This includes the current Bloomland in Oz exhibit, which requires a separate ticket for all guests. Residents are encouraged to check the updated policy online to confirm which benefits apply before their next visit.
