The Chestermere Public Library hosted a career support event on March 24, 2026, to help residents in Chestermere, Alberta, find local work and improve their job applications. This weekly program, held in the main library area from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., connects job seekers with professional advice and hiring resources.
The sessions are run by Prospect Human Services, an Alberta non-profit group that helps people overcome hurdles to finding employment. These services are provided at no cost to residents because they are funded by the Government of Alberta and the federal government.
Demand for these services has increased because Chestermere is one of the fastest-growing cities in the province. According to the Alberta Regional Dashboard, the local population reached 31,671 in 2025, which is a jump of nearly 32 per cent over just five years.
While the community is growing quickly, library staff have noted that the current library building was originally designed to serve only 7,000 people. Despite the limited space and budget, the library works with groups like the City of Chestermere to ensure residents can still access important employment tools.
Residents who were unable to attend the Tuesday session can visit the Spring 2026 Chestermere Job Fair on April 29, 2026. This upcoming event will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and is a joint effort between Prospect, the City, and the local Chamber of Commerce.
