Monday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 percent chance of late afternoon showers and a risk of a thunderstorm. The high is expected to reach 23°C, with a humidex of 25 and local smoke in the area.
Tuesday begins sunny before clouds move in, again with a 30 percent chance of late day showers and a thunderstorm risk. The high jumps to 27°C, and humidex values could hit 31.
By Wednesday, the forecast turns predominantly sunny with a high near 26°C. Thursday and Friday will bring a mix of sun and cloud with highs from 23°C to 26°C.
Environment Canada notes the UV index will be high at 6 on Monday and Tuesday. Residents spending time outdoors should wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, a hat, and sunglasses, and seek shade between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The calmer weather follows a severe hailstorm on August 11 that pounded the town with loonie to golf-ball sized hail, damaging homes and vehicles. No injuries were reported.
