The community of Gimli is coming together to celebrate local curling stars Colton and Kadriana Lott, who are preparing to represent Canada on the world stage. A public send-off event for the husband-and-wife duo will take place on April 17, 2026, at 7:00 PM at 45 Centennial Road.
The event recognizes the pair for their historic achievements in the sport, including becoming the first team to win back-to-back Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in 2024 and 2025. Following their national success, the Lotts are set to compete at the 2026 ACE & Company World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, which takes place in Geneva, Switzerland, from April 25 to May 2.
Colton Lott has had a busy season on the ice, recently winning his first national men’s title at the 2026 Montana’s Brier in March. He is currently competing as the third for Team Matt Dunstone at the 2026 LGT World Men’s Curling Championship in Ogden, Utah. That event continues until April 4, giving the athletes time to return home before their community gathering later in the month.
The Lotts have deep roots in the region, with Colton growing up in Sandy Hook and Kadriana Lott currently working as an optometric assistant. This send-off offers residents a chance to show their support for the couple as they head abroad to continue their competitive season.
