Recent graduates from Gimli High School who are pursuing post-secondary education in a medical field have until May 15, 2026, to apply for the $1,000 Dr. R.C. Patel and Mrs. Shakuntala Patel Scholarship. The Evergreen School Division is currently accepting applications for the award, which is administered through the Evergreen Foundation of Manitoba Inc.
Applicants must be former students of Gimli High School who are now enrolled in a medical program at a recognized post-secondary institution. The application deadline is set for 10:00 a.m. on May 15, 2026. Interested students should note that schools in the division will be closed for a general administration day on that date, which may affect plans to submit forms in person.
Application materials can be picked up at the school division office located at 140 Centre Avenue West in Gimli, or they can be accessed through the school division website. Following the application process, the successful recipient will be notified by June 30, 2026.
The Evergreen School Division serves approximately 1,400 students across eight schools in the Interlake region, with Gimli High School serving as the largest school in the division. The scholarship is one of several efforts supported by the foundation to assist students within the community.
