The Milton Minor Hockey Association will open registration on April 2nd for its spring tryouts, offering local youth the opportunity to secure spots on competitive teams for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Players in age groups ranging from U8 to U18 can register for evaluations as the organization prepares for league play to begin in September 2026.
Tryouts for representative, minor development, and advanced houseleague teams are conducted at the Milton Sports Centre. Located at 605 Santa Maria Blvd., the facility serves as the primary hub for the association, which supports approximately 1,450 players across the community.
Registration for these tryouts carries specific fees depending on the level of play. Costs are $130 for U8 and U9 minor development evaluations, $200 for U10-U18 multilevel tryouts, $140 for U14-U18 BB/AHL non-contact tryouts, and $70 for U10-U18 Advanced Houseleague-only tryouts. These fees cover the evaluation process but do not include general season registration or team-specific expenses, which typically range from $580 to $855 depending on the division.
The association operates under the guidance of the Ontario Hockey Federation, the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, and Hockey Canada. Recent changes to provincial regulations now allow players aged U10 and older to choose which association they wish to join, regardless of their home residency. This shift comes as national youth hockey participation continues to show growth for the fourth consecutive year.
Residents seeking more information or assistance with the registration process can contact the association office at 905-636-1118.
