Milton youth hockey players are preparing to hit the ice as Milton Minor Hockey, known locally as the Milton Winterhawks, launches its spring evaluation sessions for the 2026-27 season. The tryouts officially begin on Saturday, April 4, 2026, and will be held primarily at the Milton Sports Centre.
The evaluation process covers a wide range of age divisions, serving players from age 4 to 19. To help manage the flow of athletes at the rink, the organization has split the U8 through U11 sessions alphabetically by the player’s last name. These on-ice sessions are set to run through May 22, 2026.
Families looking to participate can sign up through the Hockey Canada registration platform. As an affiliate of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, the organization notes that teams selected during these spring sessions will be eligible to begin sanctioned team activities on September 8, 2026.
This upcoming season also highlights a continued connection to junior-level hockey. The organization’s U18 representative teams will continue to operate in partnership with the local Junior A club, with those squads branded as the Milton Jr. Menace, according to the Milton Menace.
The Milton Winterhawks hold a significant place in the local sports community, boasting an all-time organization record of 809 wins across 1,747 games.
