On March 18, 2026, the Halton Regional Police Service began investigating a home invasion where five men forced their way into a house in Milton, Ontario. At around 2:45 AM, the suspects entered a residence near Rose Way and Wellwood Terrace, where they confronted a woman and stole cash and clothing.
The suspects, who all wore face coverings, demanded money and designer clothes before leaving the scene. During the encounter, the woman was physically assaulted and suffered minor injuries. Investigators noted that no weapons were seen during the incident.
Police do not believe there is a continued risk to the public at this time. Officers are now looking for security or dash cam video from the neighbourhood recorded around the time of the break-in. Anyone with information is asked to contact the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau.
This event follows a rise in home break-ins in Milton throughout 2025. Police have previously warned that organized crime groups often target houses located near trail systems and green spaces. These groups usually wear dark clothes, masks, and gloves to blend in with people walking on local paths.
In February 2026, police arrested a man from Mississauga in connection with 13 similar crimes where $400,000 in items were taken. Residents are encouraged to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to the authorities immediately.
