Milton residents will have a chance to learn about and comment on a proposal for three large industrial warehouses at 8995 Boston Church Road during a public meeting on Monday, July 13, 2026. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 150 Mary Street, where town planners will present the details before council makes a final decision.
The property sits at the southeast corner of No. 5 Side Road and Boston Church Road, covering roughly 12 hectares (30 acres). According to the Town of Milton, the plan includes 399 parking spaces and 81 loading docks, with access from both roads. The site would be rezoned to allow industrial use, along with protected open space and natural areas.
The application needs several approvals: a change to the town’s official plan to bring the land into the 401 Industrial/Business Park area, a zoning bylaw amendment, and a draft plan of subdivision. These requests are grouped under town files LOPA-04/26, Z-06/26, and 24T-26001/M.
This proposal comes as Milton’s industrial sector is booming. In 2025, the town added nearly two million square feet of industrial space and welcomed more than 100 new businesses, according to the 2025 InvestMilton Annual Report. Leasing activity more than doubled, and the amount of vacant employment land dropped from 19 per cent to 12 per cent by early 2026.
People driving in the area should note that Boston Church Road is closed between James Snow Parkway and 5 Side Road and is expected to remain closed until December 31, 2026 for a major reconstruction linked to the corridor’s employment growth. The public meeting offers a chance for residents to ask questions or voice concerns before council votes on the project.
