The FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton in Milton, Ontario, is hosting a new art exhibition called “in a BLINK” from March 3 to March 21, 2026. The show features the work of artist Mary Ellen Chapman and is located in the centre’s Holcim Gallery.
Mary Ellen Chapman, a professional artist from Georgetown, uses a unique process involving wax and flame to create her pieces. She takes landscape photographs and applies raw pigments and melted wax to the images to create textured, layered compositions with bright colours.
The Holcim Gallery is a space that frequently changes its displays to showcase the work of regional artists and local community groups. This exhibition offers residents a chance to see how traditional photography can be transformed into modern, textured art.
