As of late Tuesday morning, conditions were partly cloudy and 23.8°C in Milton, with humidity at 73 percent. The forecast says rain could start later in the day, with gusty north winds of 30 km/h that could reach 50 km/h expected tonight. The chance of showers continues into the evening before winds ease overnight, with a low of 17°C.
While parts of southern Ontario were under thunderstorm watches on Monday, no weather alerts are currently in effect for Milton. However, nearby communities like Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton could see up to 25 mm of rain today. This comes just 10 days after a tornado warning was issued for Milton and Halton Hills on July 18, when severe storms brought heavy rain and damaging wind gusts up to 90 km/h.
Things will improve quickly starting Wednesday. Sunny skies are expected through Friday, with highs climbing from 24°C on Wednesday to 27°C on Thursday and 29°C on Friday. It will be a warm and dry stretch before clouds roll back in for the weekend. Saturday looks cloudy with a high of 27°C, and Sunday brings a 40 percent chance of showers with a cooler high of 22°C. Monday will see a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 26°C.
The wet weather matches the summer forecast from The Weather Network, which predicted more days with showers and thunderstorms than usual across Ontario this season. For today, any outdoor plans should include a backup, and residents may want to secure loose items on balconies or yards ahead of possible wind gusts.
