Construction work has resumed in Mount Pearl as the city moves forward with preparations for a new water tower located at 7 Tavenor Place. Crews began working on the site and the surrounding Water Tower Access Road during the week of April 27, 2026.
The project is part of a broader city initiative to upgrade infrastructure and increase water capacity to support future development. The new facility will be situated approximately 350 metres east of the cul-de-sac on Tavenor Place.
According to the City of Mount Pearl, residents should not experience any direct traffic disruptions at this time. However, those living in the area may notice an increase in construction vehicles using the Water Tower Access Road to reach the work site.
The city previously organized a public briefing session regarding the development application, which was set for April 22, 2026. This meeting was cancelled due to a lack of public representation.
