The pattern shifts by midweek, with Thursday expected to be the coolest and dampest day. Environment Canada calls for cloudy skies and a 40 percent chance of showers, with the high topping out at just 17°C. Residents planning outdoor activities may want to aim for earlier in the week or hold off for the weekend.
Conditions are set to improve quickly after that. Friday will see clearing skies and a high of 21°C, followed by a sunny weekend that could feel more like summer, with temperatures climbing to 23°C on Saturday and 24°C by Sunday.
Current observations from Victoria International Airport, just west of Sidney, showed mostly cloudy skies and a temperature of 16.9°C early Monday afternoon, with southeast winds at 18 km/h.
