Families in St. Thomas, Ontario, can learn new ways to support their children’s mental health and internet habits during a community event on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The evening, called C.A.M.P., focuses on connection, awareness, mindfulness, and purpose to help parents and students navigate the digital world together.
The Arthur Voaden Secondary School Parent Council is leading the event in partnership with Central Elgin Collegiate Institute and Parkside Collegiate Institute. The program is designed to give parents practical tools for monitoring what their children see and do online while supporting their overall well-being.
Expert guest speaker Dr. Charlene Doak-Gebauer will give a presentation on online safety and digital supervision. She is a recognized specialist in protecting children and families in digital spaces and is known for her work in advocacy and documentary films.
The event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Central Elgin Collegiate Institute, located at 201 Chestnut St. in St. Thomas. Along with the main presentation, families can participate in self-led discussions and find information about local mental health services available in the community.
