St. Thomas, Ontario, is starting the week under rainy skies, but a stretch of sunshine is on the way. Environment Canada says cloudy conditions with a chance of showers this morning will give way to clearing by Monday afternoon, setting up several days of warm, mainly dry weather.
As of Monday morning, The Weather Network reports overcast conditions with rain expected, a temperature of 17°C, and humidity at 83%. About 5 mm of rain is expected before the system moves out.
The federal agency’s forecast for the St. Thomas-Aylmer-Eastern Elgin County region calls for a high of 22°C Monday, with a humidex making it feel like 26. The UV index hits 7, or high, once the sun breaks through. Fog patches could develop overnight as temperatures drop to 10°C.
The rest of the week looks mainly dry until Thursday, when unsettled weather returns. According to The Weather Network’s 7-day outlook, there is a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms on June 25, with a daytime high of 23°C feeling more like 27°C.
After that, mainly sunny skies are expected to return Friday and last through the weekend. Temperatures will gradually climb, reaching a high of 25°C on Sunday. With humidity, it could feel like 31°C, making it one of the warmest days of the week.
No severe weather alerts are currently in effect for the area. Environment Canada advises residents to stay aware of changing conditions, especially mid-week when thunderstorm risk picks up.
