Residents in St. Thomas are invited to gather for the inaugural Love Local Block Party, a new community celebration taking place on Friday, June 19, 2026. The free event will be held at Westlake Evans Park on Curtis Street from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Organized by the St. Thomas & District Chamber of Commerce, the celebration aims to bring the community together to support and highlight local businesses. The Chamber, which has served as a voice for local commerce since 1869, currently represents more than 625 member businesses, non-profits, and charities across the region.
The event will be held at Westlake Evans Park, a community space that opened in October 2023 on the site of a former police station. The venue features a children’s play area, a public piano, outdoor ping pong tables, and two large murals. The park was developed with a $750,000 donation from the Donna Vera Evans Bushell Estate.
Planning for the block party is being led by the Chamber’s event and experience manager, Lindsey Massecar. The organization is headed by chief executive officer Paul Jenkins, who has focused the Chamber’s efforts on advocacy and communication for its wide membership base. Attendees can expect an evening of food, entertainment, and activities suited for families as the community marks this first-time event.
More information about the upcoming gathering can be found through the Love Local Block Party event page.
