Parents in Stonewall, Manitoba, can now register their children for the 2026 season of Stonewall Minor Ball. The community-run organization has opened online registration for baseball and softball programs, with a deadline of March 13, 2026 at noon. The programs are open to kids ages 6 through 18, with fees starting at $100 for the youngest group and going up to $350 for older teens.
Stonewall Minor Ball is a nonprofit, volunteer-led group that has been a fixture in the community for years. President Shaun Dalgliesh leads a team of local volunteers, including Taylor Hagen as vice president of baseball, Matt Fines as vice president of softball, and Bre-anne Kiesman as registrar and communications lead.
The season typically runs from May through the last week of June. Practices are held twice a week, with nights varying by division — some on Tuesdays and Thursdays, others on Mondays and Wednesdays. While practices take place at Quarry Park, games are played at the well-known Fines Field and at diamonds across the Interlake region. The nine-diamond Fines Field facility has hosted provincial and national championships. The organization offers separate baseball and softball divisions to match different age groups, from Rally Cap programs for the youngest players up to under-18 baseball and under-19 softball.
Fees vary by age group. The Rally Cap 5U division, for children born in 2021 and 2022, costs $100. The 7U Rally Cap is also $100. For older players, fees climb to $350 for the under-18 baseball division and the under-17 softball division. Softball fees for the under-19 level are yet to be determined. Mid-range fees for other age divisions fall between $130 and $240.
Stonewall Minor Ball is affiliated with Interlake Minor Ball, which coordinates league play among several communities in the region. The organization also operates under the guidelines of Baseball Manitoba and Softball Manitoba.
