The Interlake School Division has announced that elections for school trustees will take place on October 28, 2026. Residents in Stonewall and surrounding areas will have the opportunity to vote for the officials who set policies and budgets for local schools.
According to the Manitoba School Boards Association, these elections occur every four years in conjunction with municipal voting. Trustees are responsible for governing the division by making decisions on educational priorities, setting broad goals, and developing board policies based on both provincial requirements and community values.
The division serves approximately 3,000 students across 13 public school sites, including École R.W. Bobby Bend School, École Stonewall Centennial School, and Collège Stonewall Collegiate. The current board is made up of seven trustees serving across four wards. Ward 2, which covers the Stonewall area, is currently represented by three trustees: Alan Campbell, François Uhres, and Victoria Schindle. Alan Campbell serves as the current board chair.
Eligible voters are encouraged to monitor future updates regarding how and where to cast their ballots for the upcoming 2026 Manitoba School Trustee Elections.
