The South Interlake 55 Plus centre in Stonewall, Manitoba, has released its April 2026 newsletter featuring a variety of new programs and upcoming community events for older adults.
Residents can look forward to a presentation on advance care planning hosted by the Winnipeg Chapter of Dying With Dignity Canada. The event is set for Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the centre, located at 374 First Street West. This session will provide information on patient rights and end-of-life options.
For those looking for a social outing, the centre is organizing a shopping trip to the Outlet Mall on Thursday, April 16, 2026. The trip costs $20 for members and $25 for non-members, with a registration deadline of April 14. The bus will depart from Lions Manor at 9:15 am, followed by a pickup at the centre at 9:30 am.
The volunteer-based non-profit organization, which first opened in 1995, also confirmed that its Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 7:00 pm at the centre. Annual memberships for 2026 remain available for $25.
The centre continues to offer various programs supported by provincial and federal initiatives, including social groups funded by the Age-Friendly Manitoba Initiative and pickleball sessions subsidized by the federal New Horizons for Seniors Program.
