Residents in Stonewall, Manitoba, are invited to support local older adults by attending an Old Time Dance Fundraiser on May 23, 2026. The event will take place at 1:00 pm at Stonewall Collegiate and serves as a key effort to raise money for the operations and programming of South Interlake 55 Plus.
South Interlake 55 Plus is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for seniors through educational, recreational, health, and social opportunities. The funds raised from the dance will help the centre maintain affordable services for the community, which currently includes exercise classes, line dancing, pickleball, card games, and social gatherings.
The organization operates out of the historic Oddfellows Hall at 374 1st Street West. It is supported by a Board of Directors that includes President Detlev Regelsky, Vice President Laurie Briggs, 2nd Vice President Paul Pelletier, Secretary Florence Bambenek, and Treasurer Maria Dalman, alongside Executive Director Deb Hildebrandt.
South Interlake 55 Plus is part of the Manitoba Association of Senior Communities, a provincial network that helps senior centres facilitate healthy aging. Those interested in further supporting the organization can sign up for an annual membership for $25, which provides access to free programs, discounts on paid activities and trips, and voting rights at the annual general meeting.
