The Red Deer Regional Airshow returns to the Red Deer Regional Airport in Springbrook, Alberta, from July 24 to 26, 2026, marking the first airshow since the airport’s major expansion. The three-day event features aerial performances by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds in their final season flying the CT-114 Tutor aircraft, along with other military and civilian acts. Organizers say the family-friendly show will also include ground attractions, food vendors, and interactive displays.
The event kicks off Friday evening with a Glow Night & Flight Suit Disco from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., followed by full airshows on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to the Snowbirds, performers include the CF-18 Hornet tactical demonstration and the Canadian Armed Forces SkyHawks parachute team. On the ground, visitors can explore static aircraft displays, STEM programming, and a medical helicopter from STARS Air Ambulance.
This year’s show is particularly significant for aviation fans, as it is the final season for the Snowbirds’ CT-114 Tutor fleet, which has performed for 55 years. The Government of Canada announced earlier this year that the aircraft will be retired, making their Red Deer appearance one of the last chances to see the iconic jets in action.
The airshow builds on the success of the 2023 event, which drew more than 25,000 people and pumped an estimated $2.5 million into the local economy, according to Travel Alberta. Since then, the airport has completed a $34 million expansion that added an expanded terminal, new taxiway, upgraded airside infrastructure, and a road opening up space for future development. CEO Nancy Paish called the return of the airshow a proud moment for the airport and community, noting the new infrastructure is ready to welcome visitors.
