The Town of Sylvan Lake is looking to fill 10 seasonal parks worker positions, with the application deadline coming up on May 14, 2026. These new staff members will help keep the community’s outdoor spaces clean and maintained throughout the busy summer months.
The jobs run from June 2 until September 7, 2026. Workers will earn $19.20 per hour for up to 40 hours of work each week. Responsibilities for these roles include maintaining public parks, sports fields, trails, playgrounds, and washroom facilities, as well as working at the municipal campground located within the 60-acre Pogadl Sports Park.
This hiring effort is part of a larger plan to improve the quality of the town’s lakeshore. On March 24, 2026, Town Council approved the 2026 budget, which set aside funding for five additional parks staff for garbage collection and general maintenance in response to feedback from residents. The current call for 10 labourers represents an expansion beyond those initially budgeted positions.
Anyone interested in applying for these positions can send a resume, cover letter, and references to the town’s Human Resources department by emailing [email protected]. Applicants should mention “Parks Labourer” in the subject line of their email.
For residents looking for other ways to get involved in the community, the town also operates a Volunteer Centre, which helps connect people with various local volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
