Sylvan Lake residents are invited to a free community celebration on August 23, 2026, as the town hosts its annual Neighbour Day Party in the Park. The event runs from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Health & Wellness Healing Hub on 47 Avenue west of 52 Street.
The afternoon will feature live music, yard games, bracelet making, and free ice cream. Organizers encourage everyone to bring lawn chairs and “make connections with other Lakers.”
The party is organized by the town’s Wellness & Community Connections department, a partnership with the Government of Alberta that runs community-building programs. Sylvan Lake’s Neighbour Day tradition began in 2024, with Mayor Megan Hanson proclaiming the event in August 2025 and continuing this year.
The Health & Wellness Healing Hub, completed in 2022, offers a gazebo, Zen gardens, and artwork, making it a natural gathering spot for community events.
