The Town of Sylvan Lake is actively hiring for seven positions across its administration, parks, aquatics, and tourism departments, with some application deadlines just days away. The openings reflect the town’s push to boost staffing for the busy summer months along the lakefront.
Two of the roles have immediate deadlines. The receptionist position at the Wellness and Community Connections Centre requires applications by June 28, 2026, and the adult program administrator role must be applied for by June 30, 2026. The other five jobs remain open until filled: a human resources manager, a tourism development coordinator (six‑month term), a parks operator/arborist, a part‑time lifeguard/instructor, and a senior lifeguard covering an 18‑month maternity leave.
The hiring push comes as council recently approved funding for nine extra seasonal staff in the 2026 budget—four bylaw officers and five parks workers—to keep up with garbage collection, washroom cleaning, and general lakefront upkeep during peak visitor season. Sylvan Lake welcomes about 671,000 visitors each summer, adding to the demand for well-staffed parks and recreation services.
With a working-age population of roughly 10,800 and a median age of 36, the town has a large pool of potential applicants. All candidates must be authorized to work in Canada and provide an RCMP-based criminal record check. Applications should be emailed to [email protected] with a resume and cover letter that names the position.
Job details and descriptions are posted on the town’s official careers page at sylvanlake.ca/careers.
