Residents in Three Rivers should note a change to their waste collection services this week due to the Easter holiday. The Island Waste Management Corporation, which handles waste disposal across Prince Edward Island, has announced that there will be no garbage or recycling collection on Friday, April 3, 2026.
To accommodate the holiday, collection for those who normally have their bins picked up on Friday has been moved to Saturday, April 4, 2026. Residents are reminded to have their carts and blue bags at the curb by 7:00 AM on Saturday to ensure they are collected, as trucks begin their routes at that time.
In addition to the collection change, all Island Waste Management Corporation offices and local waste drop-off centres will be closed on Friday, April 3. Normal collection operations are set to resume on Monday, April 6, 2026.
The Town of Three Rivers, a municipality in Kings County with a population of 7,883, receives its waste management services through the provincial program, which coordinates disposal and recycling efforts across the entire province.
