Wainwright is in for a pleasant stretch of weather this week, with Environment Canada forecasting mostly sunny skies and daytime highs climbing into the mid-to-high 20s.
Monday will be sunny, becoming a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon, with a high of 23 C. Tuesday looks even warmer at 26 C, feeling like 28 with the humidex. The warmest day is expected Wednesday, when the mercury could hit 28 C under sunny conditions.
A few interruptions are possible. There is a 60 per cent chance of evening showers Wednesday night, and a 30 per cent chance Friday night. No severe weather alerts are in effect, and the week overall should offer plenty of opportunity to be outside.
The UV index will be high through Wednesday, sitting at 7 each day. Environment Canada recommends reducing time in the sun when UV is high, particularly between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and using protective clothing and sunscreen.
Long daylight hours add to the outdoor appeal, with sunrise at 5:07 a.m. and sunset at 9:49 p.m. on Monday. A mix of sun and cloud returns Thursday with a high of 20 C, and Friday should be sunny at 22 C before the chance of nighttime showers.
