Residents in Stonewall, Manitoba, should prepare for slippery roads and sidewalks as a mix of snow and freezing drizzle moves through the area on March 4 and March 5, 2026.
According to Environment Canada, there is a 60 per cent chance of light snow or freezing drizzle starting today and lasting through Thursday. The weather system is bringing northeast winds of 30 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 50 km/h.
The wind will make it feel much colder, with the wind chill expected to reach -23°C on Wednesday evening. These cold temperatures can cause frostbite, so residents are encouraged to dress warmly if they need to spend time outdoors.
The freezing precipitation is expected to make travel hazardous on local roads and highways. People walking through the community should also use caution on sidewalks and walkways, which may become icy and slick.
