The Arviat Royal Canadian Mounted Police have charged a local man following an investigation into property damage at a construction site in the community.
Thomas Aggark, 41, of Arviat faces a charge of mischief in connection with the incident, which took place on March 25, 2026. Local police opened the investigation on March 26, 2026, after receiving a report regarding the damage.
The case moved forward after police released a still image from a video circulating on social media that showed an individual in the area of the construction site. Following the release of the image, the suspect contacted the detachment and identified himself to authorities.
Aggark has been released from custody and is set to appear in court in Arviat on August 11, 2026.
