Residents of Beausejour, Manitoba can now review the town’s 2026 Financial Plan, which outlines the municipality’s spending priorities for the year. The town hosted a public hearing regarding the document on April 1, 2026, as announced on the Town of Beausejour website.
The local government is led by Mayor Ray Schirle and a council comprised of councillors Candice Holigroski, Glen Kaatz, Jan Leclerc, and Don Mazur. The town’s administrative operations are managed by Chief Administrative Officer Christine Hutlet. Residents who have questions or would like to visit the municipal office can find it at 639 Park Avenue, with doors open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For those preparing their finances for the year, property taxes in Beausejour are due on or before Monday, August 31, 2026, by 4:30 p.m. Payments received after this date will be subject to a 1.25% monthly penalty, which begins on September 1. Total tax bills for property owners are determined by a combination of levies from the town and the Sunrise School Division, calculated based on the property’s assessed value and the overall tax rate.
The surrounding Rural Municipality of Brokenhead is also currently moving through its own budget process. That municipality has a public hearing for its 2026 financial plan set for April 14, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., with documents expected to be available for public review on or after April 10.
