The Town of Blackfalds has announced two upcoming road closures due to ongoing construction and maintenance work, and residents are being encouraged to plan their travel routes in advance.
A portion of Vista Trail is currently closed for maintenance and is expected to remain restricted through May 23, 2026. This closure overlaps with the town’s Community Garage Sale, which is set for May 23. Participants travelling to this community event may need to adjust their travel plans accordingly.
Additionally, the intersection of Womacks Road and Broadway Avenue will be fully closed to traffic on May 25, 2026. This closure will last from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. During this time, the town will have roadblocks and detour signage in place to direct traffic around the work area.
The Blackfalds Public Works Department is responsible for these maintenance projects. Residents who have urgent concerns regarding these road works can contact the department after hours at 403.340.9593.
