Blackfalds, Alberta, is gearing up for the return of its biggest community celebration. The annual Blackfalds Days festival runs from June 19 to 21, 2026, with the much-anticipated community parade stepping off at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20.
The weekend is hosted by the Town of Blackfalds alongside the Blackfalds & District Agricultural Society. Organisers have lined up a roster of events for the whole family, including the traditional Councillor’s Pancake Breakfast, an evening fireworks show, and for the first time, a cabaret night.
Sean Barnes, the town’s Projects, Events, and Eagle Builders Centre Manager, says the festival is a chance for the growing community to connect. “It reminds me of a community hub. It just brings people together and having a good time, meeting at a farmers’ market or enjoying the fireworks show or watching the parade where they have friends and family,” he told centralalbertaonline.com.
The fun kicks off Friday, June 19 at 9:00 a.m. and wraps up Sunday, June 21. While the full schedule is still being rolled out, the event page highlights the pancake breakfast, parade, fireworks, and the new cabaret as anchor events. The 2024 festival drew crowds with a Moto X show, arm wrestling championships, and a bustling market, pointing to the kind of energy residents can expect again.
Blackfalds Days returned in 2024 after a pause of about two years, a period that saw major town upgrades including the opening of the Eagle Builders Centre. With a population that hit 11,415 in 2024, Blackfalds is one of Canada’s fastest-growing communities, and the festival is a cornerstone event that brings neighbours together.
